Acul-du-Nord is a located in the Northern part of Haiti, about 21 miles (32km) from downtown Cap-Haïtien. In terms of the economic aspect, the municipality is thinly equipped. Agriculture is the main source of livelihood for most residents. The most common produce crops in Acul-du-Nord are coffee, and a good variety of rice as well as tropical fruit.
Now that we covered the basics, let’s talk about what we were able to do in this area. We decided to focus on the elderly and the women with children, and created care packages of mainly food that would last a good while. Each package contained enough items to provide for their whole family.
